Prognostic Factors of Infantile Spasms

Abstract

|
One hundred and seven patients suffering infantile spasms were studied for the factors related to longterm prognosis as well as the short term outcome of ACTH therapy. There was no difference in short term and long term outcome between the ACTH
and
other treatment such as benzodiazepin or sodium valproate. The developmental status at diagnosis of infantile spasms is statistically related to longterm outcome including mental and physical development.
